At GMan Industries, our passion is riding. Our ride of choice: Metric Cruisers.
The GTank (patent pending)
GMan Industries came about as a result of the need for increased fuel capacity/range for our cruisers to eliminate those all-to-frequent fuel stops. Our initial focus was with the Suzuki Intruder 1500. Therein, the 'GTank-LC' was born.
It sounds so simple but unlike the 'paper clip' or 'pet rock,' the GTank had to prove itself to be practical and reliable before ever going into production. The GTank endured months of development, testing, revisions, retesting and finally the 'Road Test' (where the rubber meets the road thingy).
Not some dash across town, grab a burger and make it home before the sun sets, this road test needed to address as many variables as possible. The decision was made to load the bike to the max... strap on 7 bags, add a passenger and ride across the U.S... and back. The trip would total some 8,300 miles in 33 days from sea level to 14,260', from the Pacific to the Atlantic Ocean, from 35-degree mornings in the Rockies to 115-degree afternoons in New Mexico and every variable in between. The test riders chosen: My childhood bride of 30 years and me.
The GTank succeeded in all aspects, but that was only the start of the journey to its worldwide availability so all could experience the exhilaration of riding over 250 miles between fuel stops. It took another 6 months of sleepless nights to set up production of the complex GTank design into computer-perfect format, iron out the production woes, and then secure one of many related patents.
Since its introduction in the Spring of 2005, the GTank-LC has found its way onto LC-Cruisers throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe, South America and beyond.
In the Spring of 2006, we made available the GTank-C90 for the Fuel-Injected Boulevard C90, and Summer 2007 the GTank became available for the Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 Classic. We are currently testing the GTank-1400 for the Suzuki VS1400 Intruder and are working hard to make it available. Keep checking back as new models are being considered all the time! |
