Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to add a Processor if I change from stock pipes on my C90?
The simple answer is....NO, but why spend so much $$$ on pipes and not get all you can from the money you just spent? That's a lot to pay for increased noise.

If the reason for your change is increased noise only, no problem. If you’re looking to free up the 'hidden power' in the C90 by pipes alone, you will be disappointed. The best bang for your $$$ is to open up the intake so the motor can breathe in more air. If you already have a stock style K&N you can cut the top open (see our K&N GMI-1598), but you will only get the increase if you add a fuel processor to add fuel to the mix.

If you don’t already have a fuel processor/air filter package, we have the ‘Bully Package’ that takes all the guesswork out of Fuel Injection changes and is literally plug-n-play.

I see way too many riders thinking the pipes will give them the increase they are after and they spend a ton of money on noise. Or they scrimp and just get the pipes and don't follow up with a processor and open up the breathing to get the most money from their pipe purchase.

The secret is in opening up the intake and adjusting your F.I. to match. It's a ton cheaper to buy a filter and processor than it is to buy pipes. You can always add pipes later and readjust your controller to match. If you bought a good controller you shouldn't have to spend any more money to adjust it to your new pipes. If not get our Bully and Enjoy!

Do I need to add a Processor if I change from stock pipes on my C50?
No, but why spend so much $$$ on pipes and not get all you can from the money you just spent?

If the reason for your change is increased noise only, no problem. If you’re looking to free up the 'hidden power' in the C50 by pipes alone, it won’t happen. The C50 actually drops torque when after market pipes are added. To increase power you need to open the intake so the motor can breathe better. If you already have a stock style K&N you can cut holes in the bottom of the dirty side of the chrome air cover, but you’ll only get the increase if you add a fuel processor to adjust the fuel/air mix as well.

If you don’t already have a fuel processor/air filter package, we have the ‘Bully Package’ available for the C50 that takes all the guesswork out of Fuel Injection changes, you won’t have to cut holes in your chrome cover just enlarge a couple holes in your back cover and is literally a plug-n-play processor, no downloading and no special tech to help set it up.

I see way too many riders thinking the pipes will give them the increase they are after and they spend a ton of money on noise. The secret is in opening up the intake and adjusting your F.I. to match. It's a ton cheaper to buy a filter and processor than it is to buy pipes. How do I Charge My GBat?
Typically your GBat won’t need charging if your system is working well. If your riding style consists of short trips, low speed riding or a lot of stops and goes your charging system won’t be able to replenish the power used. In this case you need to look into getting our SmartBat Charger. It can be plugged in and left as a maintenance charger so you know your GBat is always up to par and it won’t hurt your GBat and can charge any 12V battery made. If it’s a once or twice issue and typically your GBat is just fine you can use a car charger with 6amps for about 90 minutes and give it a ‘boost’ so you’ll have enough power to go. Your bikes system should be able to take over from there. If a drained GBat is a regular occurrence the use of a car charger and/or battery tender type charger can short cycle your GBat and cause permanent failure. Get the Smartbat Charger and be safe and ensure your GBat investment.

How does the GTank Fill?
Both the LC & C90 fill best when on their side stand. Fill the main tank normally, when full drop nozzle pressure to 1/3 and fill the GTank at the same location. Fill time should be no longer than 90 seconds for the GTank portion.

Which tank do I run off first with my Std LC GTank?
I highly recommend getting in the habit of switching the fuel valve to the down, GTank position, immediately after filling both tanks so you can run the GTank dry first. Then switch to the main tank and track your fuel consumption from that point.

Are the GTank-LC and GTank-C90 interchangeable?
The actual GTank itself is identical for both bikes, but the similarity stops there. None of the GTank-LC parts and pieces will transfer to the C90. If you're contemplating a C90 in your future and want to be able to transfer the GTank over at that time, opt for the GTank with Upgrade Package now as it works well for both the LC and C90.

Which GTank is best for me, the Mini (2.0 gal) or Regular (2.5 gal)?
You decide based on your needs and requirements

Mini-GTank
  • Smaller in capacity and size.
  • Effective range is approx. 80 miles.
  • Less visible when installed.
  • Excellent ground clearance for those that go off road or ride rough roads.

Regular GTank
  • Larger Capacity, wraps partially around rear tire, somewhat more visible
  • Effective range is approx. 100 miles.
  • Slightly visible on left side behind chrome storage cover.
  • Excellent ground clearance, but don't load the bike, lower it, and then bounce through major pot holes. GTank or not, bad idea!

Can I install the GTank myself? Are special tools/abilities needed?
If you can read directions and twist a screwdriver (and a few other easy-to-handle tools), you can install the GTank. It may take an afternoon, but 4hrs is the average.

Which pipes fit best with the GTank?
Every pipe that has been tried has fit with the GTank, except one: The Road House Dooley's. They occupy that forbidden space in front of the rear tire.

Does the GTank affect the warranty?
No! In fact, many dealers will install the GTank for you. Many have had their stock tank recall performed while their GTank was already in place with no issues from the Dealers or Suzuki.
